In response to requests from some of our practice managers, the Jefferson County Medical Foundation Trust began offering insurance coding classes approximately five years ago.  We periodically offer Certified Professional Coder classes that meet one day per week for approximately four months, leading up to an American Academy of Professional Coders CPC exam. Most classes, other than the CPC course, are approved by the American Academy of Professional Coders for Continuing Education Units, for individuals who already have their CPC certification.  All classes meet in the Jefferson County Medical Society  office building located at 901 18th Street South, Birmingham, AL 35205.  For directions to the building, click here.  Free off-street parking is available for all classes.
